Today’s insight: What is sin, really? I’ve long said that the spanish word “sin” means literally “without.” I’ve defined sin in the spiritual sense as representing separation from God or spirit.
But the reality is that there is no such thing as separation from God. So, what “sin” really means is things that render us unconscious of our connection to Spirit. It’s not that it doesn’t exist, it’s just that we are unconscious of it, much as we are mostly unconsious of the air we breathe.
Here’s the trick to that turn of phrase – being “unconscious of spirit”: the unconscious is always connected to spirit; it is always our connection to spirit.
